More Feedback For Candidates Within Blacktown LGA

Yes, I love my job. Actually I love my unpaid job. Unpaid monetary but one day I will be paid when I see so many thousands and thousands of Mount Druittans and tenfold or more of Western Sydneysiders have the perfect public transport system that is presented and it provides not one single complaint, yet plenty of compliments are always forthcoming!

In saying that I have been communication by phone to candidates in all wards ( that I could reach) or even have e-mail them to see their views, statements, thoughts, policies on  public transport within our Blacktown Local Government Area.

I have missed results, in general all candidates have a passion for public transport even the new candidates. A few candidates don't even realise that Local Council is involved with the planning of local public transport, they think it is all up to the New South Wales State Government and I think this was my perception prior to my involvement as a proactive lobbyist  and advocate for public transport ( I don't blame them!).

Other candidates explain the issues that concern them and see difficulties with bus operators in the past and present, having a big influence over Council in organising  bus routes their way, not the Councils/Councillors way! It has been quoted that 'Profit chooses the bus routes!' It seems to be that when you ask Bus Operators questions on  who decided the route or taking away of the route they tend to not mention themselves was the instigator of the decision.

 Anyway feedback from Councillors:

Ward 1:

Paul Cini  - Independent

Would like to see a pedestrian overpass over Riverstone Railway Crossing instead of the Level Crossing over the Riverstone Railway Line. Also would like an extension of the North-West Rail link to Continue to St Marys Train Station or even  Kingswood train station. Paul stated that we need Lopping train services which will spread the load of commuters catching trains on different lines.

Ward 2:

Len Robinson  - Liberal

He understands that our group  covers Ward 4 and 5 although he has discussed a passion for public transport improvements - he advised he will refer to his party Colleagues, Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson Ward 5 and candidate Isabelle White Ward 4, to provide the Liberal Parties policies/ suggestions ideas to us.

Ward 4:
Joan McIntyre - Independent

Thanks John you have my support .

Charlie

Neria Soliman - Independent

She is concerned of commuters being intoxicated,

entering buses and affecting other commuters, would like

to see bus drivers take necessary steps to ensure these

commuters are not entering the bus in that condition. Is

concerned of stone throwing issues on buses claiming

commuters need  to have  more protection for safety.
